Every Imp I've ever seen has had this emblem, so it's a good way of verifying whether you have an Imp.

The tachometer hood mount was introduced with the 1970 models, so the '60s Imps did not have it. So this can not be used to tell if it's an Imp.

But remember that the Imp was available in many different kits, ranging from the basic body kit to the rather thorough Grand Sport kits. My '70 was one of the basic kits. It came with the body, the hood/dash, windshield, the rollbar, turnsignals, and the chrome taillight housings. It was also a standard gelcoat yellow, not the popular metalflake that a lot of them were.
