imp worth fixing up or not

I have an original imp, gold with soft top. I started restoration a few years ago. At this point the vehicle is complete but, still needs assembly,wiring and lights etc. Engine needs a lot of work, was running. Are these imp dune buggies worth restoring? I really do not have time to restore. I just want a fun vehicle to drive on the weekends. Would I be a fool to trade this vehicle for a running manx type clone? Thanks for any help.
