: : ok i have just found the sporster and i think they are cool. i have also just totaled my bug.
: : an old lady t-boned me. the pan is still good so i would like to build a sportster. where can i
: : get plans? also could i build it of wood instead of metal? i build plywood boats and am very handy
: : with plywood and fiberglass construction. could i use this technique to build a sportster?

: I have a copy of the plans to build a two seater Sportster (the one with the bed in back). I've been working on getting it WWW-ready, but family issues have slowed down the process. Keep in touch and you'll be able to see the plans yourself.

: As for the building it out of wood/fiberglass, I don't know on that one. Obviously the fiberglass would be fine, but I'm not that skilled or experienced with wood to say if it'd work.

: To everyone else, If anyone out there has the plans for the 4-seat Sportster, I'd really like to hear from you.

: : also, how do you title something like this?

: This all depends on your local laws. Here in California, my Imp is classified as a "special built" car. This category can include dune buggies, street rods, kit cars, etc. You'll probably have to talk to someone in your area who owns a buggy or a kit car and ask them about registration.

: Tuna

:I'd like to build a SWB car from plans too Tom. Can't wait to see them!!!!!
