• The Type 4 Forum is a message forum to discuss high performance Type 4s.
• Type 4 Stuff For Sale message forum. Got some stuff to sell or looking for a particular part? Check here for your Type 4 parts.
• ACTop20.com's Type 4 Power message forum. Good resource for those in the NW section of the USA.
• TheSamba's Performance/Engines message forum. Mostly Type 1 discussion, but occasionally a Type 4 thread appears. Many knowledgable engine people there.

American

• Type 4 Store - an USA based Type 4 engine part retailer with an extremely large selection of stock and high performance parts, many of which are exclusive to them.
• Air Cooled Technology - Really friendly and helpful VW builder and tuner from Georgia, USA.
• Massive Type 4 - New manufacturer of the well engineered and popular DTM upright conversion.
• LN Engineering - Innovators of the "Nickies" piston/cylinder sets and ceramic composite lifters for the VW industry.
• Air Cooled.Net - Order parts for your Type 4 project from people who know what they are doing.
• FAT Performance - Renowned engine builder and parts supplier, known for their Type 4 offroard racing engines.
• RIMCO Machine Shop - A well respected Southern California VW machine shop.
• Scat Enterprises - A long time VW parts vendor with many unique Type 4 parts, including SplitPort heads and Type 4 1.5qt deep sump.
• Scat Crankshafts - Division of Scat Enterprises that sells billet and forged crankshafts.
• CB Performance - Originally known as Claude's Buggies, CB Performance has been a long time innovator in the VW market.
• Tangerine Racing - Manufacturer of high quality exhaust systems for Type 4 powered vehicles.
• Demello Machine Shop - Producer of the famous DMS crankshafts.

British (UK)

• John Maher Racing's Type 4 page. An engine builder from the UK.
• LA Performance - A British company that sells many of their developed performance Type 4 products.
• Stateside Tuning - An UK retailier of stock and high performance Type 4 engine parts.

German

• Riechert Tuning - German supplier of VW parts, including brand new (not reconditioned) crank case and cylinder heads
• Custom and Speed Parts - A German retailer of Type 4 parts. Nice variety of Type 4 parts.
• B.A.S. Ahnendorp - This company has a large selection of parts for the Type 4 and for installing a Type 4 into an upright configuration. Prices are German and the language is German/English.
• Klaus Kaefer Tuning - a German tuner with some high end parts and engines, including probably the most advanced Type 4 911 conversion on the market.
• Kummetat - A German tuner that is reportedly knowledgable on the Type 4. No information is posted on the site at this moment, but if they do, I'll post something here.
• Wilke Motorenbau - Another German engine tuner, needs translation for me to summarize.

Australia

• Sharpbuilt Australia - Australian manufacturer of upright conversions
• RG Experimental Aircraft Engines - An Australian aircraft engines based on the Type 4 engine.

Other

• Cagero Automotive Superstore - a Swiss vendor that reportedly has a lot of experience with the Type 4 engine. I haven't put the site through a translator yet, but if you read German, let me know what you find there.

• Tom's Garage - Tom Perso shares information from his Type 4 engine project.
• Aircooled Absolution - check out Griznant's two Type 4 powered projects: a '68 Type 3 squareback and a '56 oval window Bug.
• Tom's Old VW Home, Type 4 page (no, it's not mine) ;-) Tom discusses his wildly built Type 4 with great info and photos.
• Dan Zink's '65 Notch with Type 4 power - This site is a great source for someone looking to install a Type 4 engine into a Type 3.
• Scott's Type IV Conversion page - Scott shows how he installed a Type 4 into his '60 double cab (crew cab).
• Dennis Farr's Type 4 conversion of a '68 Ghia - Dennis details how he installed a 2.0L Type 4 into his '68 Karmann Ghia

• Road Glue - Northern California group of 914 enthusiasts. Good source for information for 914 owners.

Books/Magazines/Multimedia

• Joe Cali's "Next Generation" - the do-it-yourselfer's guide to converting a Type 4 to upright cooling.
• Type 4 Engine Rebuild video with Jake Raby - Follow along as Jake Raby of Raby's Aircooled Technology shows the camera how he builds a stock Type 4 engine. A handy resource for those new to engine building or just new to Type 4s.
• Type 4 Engine Conversion video - Follow along as Jake Raby of Raby's Aircooled Technology shows the camera how he converts a Type 4 for upright cooling and installation into a Bug. A very good resource if you are contemplating this conversion.
• Fourth Dimension Radio - A weekly podcast with Jake Raby of Raby's Aircooled Technology that specifically covers the Type 4 engine. A good resource if you are new to the Type 4 scene. Download it and listen to it on your MP3 player on your way to work!

	How to Rebuild Your Volkswagen Air-Cooled Engine by Tom Wilson - Every Type 4 enthusiast needs this book, great for identifying parts, how to inspect parts, and how to assemble a stock engine.
	All About Performance VW Engines, Part II by the editors of HotVWs magazine - Although a majority of this special issue is Type 1 based, there are two Type 4 articles. One introduces the Type 4 engine to the uninforimed reader. The other is following along with FAT Performance as they build a 2813cc Type 4 desert race engine.
