Ever since I first posted this site, I've wanted to include some picture and diagrams of the Type 4 engine and it's similarities and differences to the Type 1. I realized that many people don't know how to recognize the Type 4 engine from the rest. So this section will try to address this. Each of the page links on the right will be a visual analysis of the Type 4 with comparision to the Type 1 for those of you familiar with the Type 1.

As of this writing, only the crankcases, camshaft, and the connecting rod pages were done. I will be working on the rest as I get pictures taken and prepared. Check back often to see the latest progress. I will announce any new information on the News page.

New!! I've just completed the cylinder head tour page. I had a lot of submissions from Shoptalk Forum's Type 4rum members. Check it out and learn more about the different models of cylinder heads used on the Type 4.
