The Type 4 was available in three different body
styles. Each body style was available in either right-hand or left-hand drive.
So each combination had it's own "Type" designation. Being familiar with these
numbers makes it easier to understand any factory literature about the Type
4.
You'll notice that the types ending with an odd number
are left hand drive and the ones ending with an even number are right hand
drive. This is common to most all VW models.
