Why A Type 4?
Although the
Type 4 series was manufactured from 1968 to 1974, very few cars are remaining.
For an owner of a Type 4, the less than favorable public opinion of it has made
it difficult to keep running. If you want to learn more about the Type 4 car,
read about the Type 4's brief history here at Tom's Type 4 Corner.
The Type 4
has been gaining in some popularity as VW enthusaists look for alternatives to
the fashionable Beetle, Karmann Ghia and Bus. Another draw about the Type 4 is
the large engines, spacious interior, and unique lines. The bodylines were
never popular with the masses, but their unique personality is gaining ground,
mirroring such American cars like the DeSoto and the Edsel.
If custom
cars are your interest, the Type 4 could make an interesting project. Check out

more horsepower is part of your plan, check out
